Join us in person for Workshop: Go For All (Part I) and get hands-on experience with this awesome ancient board game. Whether you’re a newbie or just brushing up, this session is packed with practical tips and fun challenges. Don’t miss out on connecting with fellow Go enthusiasts and boosting your skills in a relaxed, friendly environment. See you there!

This 120-minute beginner workshop introduces Go (Weiqi), one of the world’s oldest strategy board games. The program combines cultural education with hands-on learning and includes:

– An introduction to the history and origins of Go, including its development in China and its global spread.

– Instruction on basic rules, capturing techniques, game-ending conditions, and simple scoring.

– Guided small-group play with instructor support.

Audience: All ages; no prior experience required.

A partnership between Go Seigen Institute, the San Francisco Go Club, and the Chinese Center of San Francisco Public Library.
