Italian Film Series Tribute: Vincenzo Cerami
Vincenzo Cerami, who died July 2013, was a novelist, an associate of Pier Paolo Pasolini, and the screenwriter for over 40 Italian films, including several starring Roberto Benigni. Among these are La Vita è Bella, Il Mostro, and La Tigre e la Neve.
Enjoy a film series tribute to him with screenings of these three films, and see for yourself why Cerami will be so greatly missed. The screenings begin at 6:30 pm.
Settle in for a free screening of Life is Beautiful, a moving film encompassing both tragedy and comedy.
Roberto Benigni plays a Jewish bookshop owner in Fascist-era Italy. The sense of humor which allowed him to enjoy a wonderful romance with his wife will also have to serve him to protect his son when both end up in a Nazi death camp.
Free, but an RSVP is required to ensure a seat.
Please note, the film will be shown in Italian with English subtitles.
