Event Details

Yerba Buena Center for the Arts brings you an afternoon with Room for Big Ideas (RBI) resident artist Derick Ion and his artistic and spiritual companions.

“Masala” is the blend of spices that creates the unique flavors of India. “Boom” is the call you make aloud to signal the presence of Lord Shiva, the Destroyer, and the gatekeeper to the next life.

Derick Ion will offer guests chai tea and mehandi, the art form of henna ritual. This family-friendly day will feature live Kirtan musical experience featuring “Strings of her Vina,” end with a world fusion gypsy jam by the Satya Yuga Players.
