GLIDE and Veterans Alley are joining forces to bring community expressive art to the Tenderloin.
For five weeks beginning in late April, esteemed neighborhood muralist and Veterans Alley founder Amos Gregory will be hosting a weekly workshop at GLIDE to teach the art of muralism to the local community.
“We are the Tenderloin” Muralism Workshop
Five Wednesdays – April 19 to May 17, 2017 | 4pm to 6pm
GLIDE Memorial Church’s Freedom Hall, 331 Ellis St., SF
You may attend any (or all) of the workshops during the five-week period. There is no requirement to attend all five.
All are welcome (not just veterans) and Amos will personally mentor anyone interested in making the commitment to take on apprenticeship during the project.
The project will focus on the theme of Tenderloin Solidarity and will produce a wall-sized mural that will be showcased at GLIDE, through the brushes of GLIDE’s program participants and neighborhood residents.
About Veteran’s Alley:
The San Francisco Veterans Mural Project (Veterans Alley) is a community based mural project located in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District. The project consists of murals, covering over 30,000 sq. feet of public-facing walls in an alley, where veterans paint their own stories about the true reality of WAR and the military experience.
