Event Details
Where the past meets the future and tradition meets innovation.
Past and future will collide at the historic Golden Gate Park Bandshell on Saturday, May 24th. 2025. On the stage where iconic musicians like Jerry Garcia, Santana, and Jefferson Airplane entertained hundreds of thousands of San Franciscans in years past, something new is bubbling up. This free show will feature 4 Bay Area bands that exemplify the diversity of San Francisco’s vibrant music scene. This concert will feature everything from Beatlesque pop, to heavy guitar riffs, to futuristic soul, to ballet dancing set to effusive electronic music. Throughout, elements of San Francisco’s storied musical past will be interwoven with vital new ideas.
Costumes are encouraged but by no means required. For inspiration, think the Jetsons, Cowboy Bebop, or any vision of the future that includes a throwback to a previous era. Bring picnic blankets, drinks, snacks, kids, dogs, and the whole family. A splendid time is guaranteed for all!

Admist the dark edges of heavy 70s meets 90s rock riffs, Treasures have found a healthy pop heart. Their twin guitar attack makes for ambitious and anthemic song structures that evoke a Rivers-Cuomo-fronted Sparks. It’s got the heavy, the grit, the melody and the dynamics. Rock done right.
PLEEAY is a San Francisco gutter pop band with a nonbinary ballet fairy frontperson. Pleeay uses drums, bass, synths, dance, and poetry to resist conformity, choose consciousness over convenience, and live loudly with compassion. PLEEAY’s fearless lyrics address the complexity of being human while guided by fantastically original instrumentation. In recent years, PLEEAY has opened for international activist and alt pop legend Pussy Riot, played with dark wave royalty Special Interest, and lit up the main stage of SF Pride. PLEEAY is known for unforgettable performances that seamlessly balance theatricality with authenticity.
Love and Havoc is a Bay Area based R&B / Funk band led by singer-songwriter Christian Reynolds. The band’s sound is a re-imagining of old and new sounds, blended together to ensure people from all walks of life have something amazing to groove to!
Little Oil is a Mexico-City-born San Francisco Bay Area songwriter musician that finally fulfilled his creative urge to be the totalitarian dictator of his musical world and go solo with his self titled debut album and the follow-up, Ten Songs. A lover of punk, classic rock, indie, & old time country & blues, his music is a voodoo mixture that sounds both familiar but fresh and original.
