“Free Oakland Up” Market: Shop for Free Treasures (Every Friday-Sunday)

Free Oakland UP, a Social Practice Project by Jocelyn Meggait, is open Fridays through Sundays from 12–4 PM, offering free materials for art, collage, and junk journals such as ephemera, electronics parts, books, and household goods. Outdoor items are entirely free to take (just don’t take their tables, bins or shelves), while indoor visitors can choose one free item per person per day, with additional items available for a monetary donation. Some plants and select treasures are for sale. The shop aims to keep usable items out of the landfill.

Original Event Description:
_Free Oakland UP is open Friday to Sunday, 12-4, with new treasures and plants added weekly. Outside: everything is FREE, take as much as you want except my tables, bins and shelves. Loads of materials for collage, assemblage and junk journals: ephemera, typewriter and electronics parts, books, cds and DVDs, magazines, household goods, etc. Inside: ONE free item per person per day and for a fair monetary donation you may choose more. Plants and select treasures are for sale to help pay for rent and expenses. Thank you for keeping treasures out of the landfill._
