“Earth” (2007, 90 minutes, rated G)
This film is a feature length version of the dazzling BBC series Planet Earth. This stunning look at nature shows us whales cavorting in the oceans, rivers crashing down mountain-height waterfalls, the migratory patterns of several species and many other wonders. Underlying the beautiful images is the man-made damage being done to nature. Narrated by James Earl Jones.
Enjoy this free film for the whole family outdoors. Come early to pick a spot on the museum’s South Lawn and bring or buy a picnic. The museum cafe will offer boxed dinners until 8 pm; movie snacks will be available for purchase starting at 7:30 pm.
