Panel of Experts:

Lisa Pascual, MD is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, specializing in restoring and enhancing physical and cognitive functioning. She is Chief of PM&R within the Department of OrthopaedicSurgery at UCSF and Chief of Rehabilitation at both Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center and Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center.

Chris  Giza, MD is a Professor UCLA BIRC and Chief of Pediatric Neurology at UCLA. He founded and directs the UCLA Steve Tisch BrainSPORT & Operation Mend BRAIN TBI programs. He serves on concussion advisory committees for MLS, NBA and US Soccer and is a clinical consultant for MLS/USSF, NHL/NHLPA, NBA, the LA Lakers and NFL.

Kevin Wang, PhD is Professor & ViceChair Department of Neurobiology, and Director of the Center for Neurotrauma, Morehouse School of Medicine. He is a CNS therapeutics and biomarker innovator and translational neuroscientist. Has authored over 300 peer-reviewed publications.

Rajiv Saigal, MD is an Associate Professor of Neurological Surgery at UCSF. He is a neurosurgeon-scientist who specializes in complex spine surgery. His research focuses on bioengineering approaches for treating spinal cord injury. He chairs the North American Spine Society Section on Spinal Cord injury.

Cathra Halabi, MD, is a vascular neurologist at UCSF. She is the founding director of the UCSF Neurorecovery Clinic and co-directs the UCSF Post-Acute TBI Clinical Program. In addition to treating patients with neurovascular emergencies in the hospital, she cares for patients with concussion, traumatic brain injury, and other acquired neurological injuries during recovery and beyond.

Daniel Perl, MD is Professor of Pathology at Uniformed Services University and is Director of the DoD/USU Brain Tissue Repository that dedicated to studying the long-term effects of military TBI, especially the “invisible wound” associated with blast exposure.

Frank Larkin, COO Troop’s First Foundation and the National Warrior Call campaign. Former US Senate Sergeant at Arms and US Navy SEAL. Father of a combat decorated Navy SEAL who committed suicide after suffering from blast-TBI. National advocate for military suicide prevention and TBI research.

Shirley Farmer, MSW, CBIS has served as a social worker in the acute and postacute rehabilitation field. She has been Community Liaison and Clinical Specialist and is currently the No Cal Director of Business Development, Legal & National Teams for the Centre for Neuro Skills.
