After a string of sold-out small venues — including a recent ticketed show — Oakland’s Shipwrecked Shanty sails back to Sláinte Irish Pub to kick off a celebratory weekend of St. Patrick’s Day cheer and the first hints of spring.
Experience the original live “Shantyoke!” — the sea shanty sing-along Shipwrecked Shanty first brought to the stage. Think karaoke, but with traditional maritime work songs and a pub full of voices roaring out the chorus together.
Audience participation strongly encouraged. Lyrics are provided, so even first-time sailors can join the crew.
For a couple hours, the modern world slips away. You’ll time-travel to a time when ocean spray was your alarm clock and mermaids definitely didn’t have Instagram.
No experience required — just bring your voice and a thirst for adventure (and perhaps a pint).
Free show — but tips help keep the wind in our sails.
Seating is limited, so arrive early… or you might end up sitting in the dinghy.
