Hear Bayview-Hunters Point seniors read their own stories about the Hunters Point Shipyard and its giant crane at Community Voices, the closing celebration for the “Hometown Heroes” Shipyard Stories coloring book.
The book, created by artist William Rhodes with historian Stacey Carter, turns community stories into hand-drawn illustrations that kids and families can color. At this closing event, the neighbors whose memories inspired the book share them in their own voices.
Coloring pages from the book will be available to color at the event. All ages welcome. Free with RSVP – space is limited.
