Event Details

The San Francisco Theater Festival is an annual free day of live theater with over 100 performances that takes place August 7th at Fort Mason.

But in advance of this festival are six “Festival in the Neighborhoods” days – also free, but encouraging you to visit some venues you might normally associate with live theater.

  • Lower Bottom Playaz – Gem of the Ocean : August Wilson play exploring the North American African experience
  • Souletry – Simplexity : An experiential blend of soulful, sensual, and spiritual poetry
  • Thomas Simpson – Thomas Simpson : TBD
  • Sean Stryker – Social Network Me : A comedy about social networking websites with a secret plan
  • Nicole Maxali – The Good Apo : An excerpt of “I Heart Lola,” Nicole realizes that the life with Grandma is suddenly not the same… for Nicole & for her family
  • Wordslander – INK : The connection between ink & oppression by focusing on the distance between orality & text

No ticket purchase will be required, but donations are greatly appreciated.
