Free Walking Tour: Russian Hill Stairway | SF

Russian Hill has a long and fascinating history going back to the early 1800s. We will use its many stairways to explore the neighborhood, uncover its history and highlight several of the interesting characters who helped shape the neighborhood and San Francisco.

Fortunately, many of the architectural gems on Russian Hill survived the 1906 fires. These include some of the earliest houses by Willis Polk, and other houses based on the Arts and Crafts architectural movement. And, of course, there are wonderful public gardens and parks, and great views of North Beach and the rest of San Francisco at almost every turn.

Meet at intersection of Hyde and Filbert Streets.
