Event Details

If you’re worried about Omicron but still want to do something fun on Saturday, join our Watercolor Workshop! We are nearly at our second year, started in April 2020 with our wonderful plein air artist instructor, Lucia Gonnella!

Plein air artist Lucia Gonnella leads our popular biweekly art instruction series. This event is offered to the public by donation (no one turned away for lack of funds).

Italian-born Lucia is a long time North Beach plein air artist with lots of teaching experience.

ALL LEVELS Encouraged to attend! Beginner, intermediate, or advanced. You’ll get instruction on the basics, as well as more advanced techniques for those seeking to improve their skills.

Lucia will demonstrate techniques step by step with a goal for each attendee to produce a painting, using the reference image above, which we will also make available during the session.

Techniques include: wet in wet in wet, wet on dry, spattering, blending, layers, masking, salt, and lifting techniques.

This week, we are going to use the spattering technique for this painting and it would be good to have an extra sheet of paper, a pair of scissors, a brush with large handle or a wood rod.
