You’re invited to a free all ages concert in the historic bandshell in Golden Gate Park to celebrate live music, peace, diverse cultures, yourselves and San Francisco on July 15 from 5-8pm.

Headlining the show is world music legend Pato Banton and special guests.

Other performers include Estrella, Swathi Ravichandran, Tony Kaye (Director of American History X) and his grey shiny plastic suitcase, and members of the Turf Feinz. Hosted by Founder & Executive Director of Value Culture Adam Swig, and lead actor from the Last Black Man of San Francisco Jimmie Fails.

Important info: This is a free, all ages event. As a leave no trace event, please remove all trash you bring into the park. This is an alcohol free event. It’s recommended you bring your own beverage in a reusable bottle/canteen and refill at the water fountain located next to the bandshell stage. We recommend you bring layers due to weather changes, and use the bathroom before heading out. Again, let’s keep the park clean, and aim for a zero waste event.

Limited concessions but we recommend supporting one of the amazing small local businesses in the Inner Sunset around 9th Avenue and Irving, a short walk from the bandshell.

Pato Banton

Pato Banton (born Patrick Murray, 28 January 1961) is a reggae singer and toaster from Birmingham, England. He received the nickname ‘Pato’ (Jamaican Patois for “wise owl”) from his stepfather, and ‘Banton’ from the disc jockey slang for a “heavyweight DJ”. First known for his collaborations with the English Beat, UB40, and Sting, Pato is now known best for his multi generational live shows, where crowds chant the choruses “Go Pato!” and “Stay Positive!” to two of his most famous songs with the same name as the choruses, respectfully.)

Estellla

Swathi Ravichandran

Swathi Ravichandran is a Carnatic Vocalist with 20+ years of training. Her gurus include Thirupoonthuruthy V Venkatesan (her grandfather), Chingleput Ranganathan & Dr. Sumithra Vasudev.

Swathi’s unwavering approach to achieve artistic integrity helps her deliver music by focusing on aspects such as – clarity through ‘sahityam’, bhava in ‘raga’ explorations and a solid ‘laya’ control.

Tony Kaye

Tony Kaye is an English director of films, music videos, advertisements, and documentaries. He is best known as the director of American History X (1998). He’s also an artist, and singer-songwriter. His set entitled Setag, is part of his grey shiny plastic suitcase tour.
