Friday Art Walk: Nick Rossi Trio in the Temple Art Lofts (Vallejo)

The Friday Art Walk will feature Generation: Beat! Celebrating the Art & Literary Genius of Lawrence Ferlinghetti. Virgina Street will be closed to host a vibrant street celebration, the “Beat Era Happening” is produced by Obtainium Works. Live music in the Temple Art Lofts Gallery features Nick Rossi. Art Galleries, shops and restaurants will be available to patrons wanting an art and music experience. The Temple Art Lofts Gallery will feature and extensive collection of Ferlinghetti paintings. Informational videos will be available in the gallery about the artist and his work. The Ferlinghetti Art Collection is provided courtesy of the Rena Branson Gallery and the LF trust.
Longtime San Francisco-based guitarist and bandleader Nick Rossi is known for his accomplished and stylish approach to classic jazz material. Often fronting his cocktail combo inspired by the great trios of the 1940s and 1950s, Rossi is a stalwart of the Bay Area jazz world, as well as a fixture on both the swing dance and big band scenes. After a move to the Bay Area from Los Angeles, Nick immersed himself in the local R&B scene and rose to prominence as a member of The Loved Ones and Ron Silva & The Monarchs. He eventually stepped out to front his own group, the Nick Rossi Set, to local, national, and international acclaim, gradually embracing more and more of a jazz repertoire.
