More about the band:

Johnny is the sax player and bandleader who played in both of the bands that headlined alternate weeks at Cats Corner in our early days at Savanna Jazz Club. One of those bands was Johnny’s own Palace of Jazz, and the other is a musical group you’ve maybe heard of. The combination and contrast of the two bands’ sounds was what established Cats Corner as a happening scene for dancing to live music.

You could say that Johnny Bones and the Palace of Jazz was ‘instrumental’ in Cats Corner’s early success.
