Gamble Garden’s Second Saturday is back with a difference — enjoy an highly educational and entertaining “at home” experience, then give it the finishing touch with your own personal visit to Gamble Garden. Featuring tracks for adults and families, it’s the perfect way to spend a fun morning exploring nature.

For the month of August, our Second Saturday theme is “The Happiness of Apples.” Second Saturdays are free and open to all.

FOR ADULTS

Learn all about apples at home, then head to Gamble Garden to view our apple trees.

* Watch an online talk on the evolution of apples, apple pollination, and the culture of apples in the United States
* Take an online photo tour of Gamble’s apples, apple botany, and apple lore
* Bake up a Gamble luncheon favorite, the famous “Eleanor’s Apple Crisp”
* Head to Gamble and take a self-guided tour of our apple trees

FOR FAMILIES

Enjoy a fun apple-themed activities at home, then spend a beautiful August day at Gamble with family and friends.

* Watch an online video to learn about the life cycle  of apple trees
*  Enjoy a hands-on activity at home: Apple Tasting
* Head to Gamble and count all of our apples and apple trees!
