Geektoberfest: Beer Tastings + Science After Dark (San Jose)

Beer meets science at Tech at Nite: Geektoberfest, an adults-only night of brews, beats, experiments, and after-hours exploration at The Tech Interactive.

On Thursday, Oct. 8, from 7 to 11 p.m., discover the art and science behind your favorite pour with tastings from local breweries, hands-on activities, and conversations with the people who know beer best. Then grab a drink, catch a DJ set, explore The Tech’s exhibits after dark, and discover a different side of downtown San Jose nightlife.

What to Expect

Geek out over fermentation, flavor, and the science inside your glass. Your night includes:

– Beer tastings from local breweries including Fox Tale Fermentation Project, Clandestine Brewing, Hapas Brewing Company, DTSJ Brewing Co., Fathers Brewing, and more
– Beer Spherification Lab led by The Tech Interactive staff
– Science of Beer demonstrations and talks with brewers
– Music and sounds curated by Universal Grammar’s Zuri Alexa
– An Innovator Vendor Market featuring South Bay makers and artisans
– Full access to The Tech Interactive’s hands-on exhibits and workshops

Whether you’re a beer nerd, science geek, curious tinkerer, or just looking for something different to do with friends, Geektoberfest is an invitation to sip, experiment, explore, and play.

General Admission: $30 early bird
Early bird pricing increases to $35 at sellout. Admission includes gallery exhibits, workshops, the bar, and beer tastings. General Admission does not include rooftop access.

VIP Admission: $75
Get everything included with General Admission, plus access to a rooftop lounge with an exclusive seating area and DJ, two drink tickets for beer or wine, and a complimentary pour of wine from J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines. Rooftop access is reserved for VIP ticket holders.

Event details: Thursday, Oct. 8, 7 to 11 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. This event is 21+ only, and guests must show ID at the door.

Parking is Easy

Receive $5 parking validation when you park at the Convention Center Garage or 2nd & San Carlos Garage and present your same-day ticket at Visitor Services. The Tech offers $5 validated parking all night for Tech at Nite, making it easy to start your evening here and keep exploring downtown San Jose afterward.
