Glide Memorial Church &Amp; Sf African American Reparations Advisory Committee – May 28Th Event
Focus: Housing and Economic Empowerment
Date: May 28th 12:30-3 pm
Location: Glide Memorial Church, 330 Ellis St (at Taylor) in San Francisco
SF African American Reparations Committee (SFAARAC), Glide Memorial Church’s Racial Justice Group (RJG), and the GLIDE Center for Social Justice (CSJ) want to hear what you have to say about Reparations for black people in SF. We are excited to have SFAARAC Board Members as our featured speakers on all things housing and economic empowerment. This event will be in-person and on zoom and will be moderated by Paula Farmer, Erick Arguello, & Freddy Martin. At 12:30pm, free food and beverages will be provided in GLIDE’S dining room.
Then at 1:00pm we will convene in the Sanctuary for a deeper and more intimate conversation. Share your voice and ideas on solutions for racial equity and social justice for SF African Americans.
We need your voice to be heard and added to the recommendations and demands being submitted to the Board of Supervisors and Mayor London Breed. Get updated on the latest reparations news and learn about the support from the City, allies, and community on Reparations! Eat good food and enjoy good company! Add your brilliance to the conversation and help decide what gets put into the recommendations. Show up and activate! All are welcome.
Agenda:
12:30pm – 1pm – Food is served in the Dining Room lower level
1pm – 3pm – Convene in the Sanctuary for conversation
There will be a 20-30 minute update on the draft reparations recommendations and the remaining time will be spent hearing from and answering the participants questions.
