Event Details

The Golden Gate National Parks were established on October 27, 1972 and are celebrating their 40th birthday. Enjoy exhibits and artifacts telling the story of the parklands, have some 40th birthday cake, and embark on ranger-led hikes to discover more of the park’s cultural and natural history.

Directions:
The Marin Headlands Visitor Center is located in the historic Fort Barry Chapel, at the intersection of Field and Bunker Roads. The Visitor Center is approximately 3 miles from either entrance to the Marin Headlands.

10 am: 40th Anniversary Ceremony, Birthday Cake
11:15 am: Walk with Park Founders on Rodeo Valley Trail
12:15-1:30 pm: Continuation of walk, ranger-led hike into Gerbode Valley
