Join us for Grace Cathedral’s flagship conversation program online with renowned Anglican theologian Katherine Sonderegger, the William Meade Chair of Systematic Theology at Virginia Theological Seminary and author of the monumental Systematic Theology: Vol. 1, The Doctrine of God.

Who is God? What does it mean to be human? Why do we believe what we believe? These are some of the questions that systematic theology attempts to answer. Join us to hear from Katherine Sonderegger, Virginia Theological Seminary’s William Meade Chair of Systematic Theology and author of Systematic Theology: Vol. 1, The Doctrine of God, in conversation with Dean Malcolm Young. Sonderegger’s systematic theology has been described as “a love letter to God.” Her exhaustive examination of the nature of God reveals the Divine as unchanging, all-knowing and all-powerful, defying our human understanding, experience and categories. Sonderegger situates these assertions, nonetheless, in a deeply prayerful and scriptural attention to marveling at a God who seeks to be revealed and known. She argues — along with the overwhelming preponderance of the Christian tradition—that we must hold those doctrines because they reveal the God who is altogether love.
