The Great California ShakeOut Earthquake Drill | 2013

ShakeOut is California’s state-wide drop, cover and hold on earthquake drill and will take place at 10:17 am on Thursday, October 17, 2013

The purpose of the ShakeOut drill is practice and preparation: refining our response during an earthquake and preparing our homes, workplaces and schools for the possibility of an earthquake.

This is not an “event” at a specific location, but a chance for everyone to pretend that the big one is here and hide under your desk for a few minutes.

Register (or just pretend at home and take cover) and join the rest of California in the largest earthquake drill in history.
