“Green for All” Launch Party | Levi’s Workshops

Green For All and Adam Werbach proudly unveil the product of their collaborations here at the Workshop.  Green For All and the Chicago design collective, Post Family, have been working for weeks to create a new graphic identity that reflects the hope of a burgeoning green economy.  While Adam and local artist Andrew Schoultz spent a weekend earlier this month to collaborate on an incredible limited edition book that explores the way we are adapting to new global environmental, consumer and industrial realities.

About Levi’s Workshops: Located in San Francisco’s iconic Mission District (home to one of the first Levi’s factories), we’ve opened up a community print shop. During July and August 2010 we’ll be hard at work teaching classes on classic letterpress machinery, screenprinting designs, setting type, and getting our hands dirty.

Murals are a defining tradition in the Mission, and none are more iconic than those executed on the Women’s Building by the longstanding collective Maestrapeace.

Care to Air 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
After receiving nearly 100 entries, Levi Strauss & Co. is ready to declare a winner of the Care to Air Design Challenge and unveil the most innovation, covetable and sustainable air-drying solution for clothing.

August 20 Friday

Edible Schoolyard and Garden For The Environment 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Print projects produced in the Workshop by locals Alice Waters & Garden For the Environment.
