Event Details

The exhibition New Growth, our annual Youth Art Exhibition features all new student artwork created in Root Division’s free after-school Youth Education Program. This year we took our programming to Zoom to continue offering high-quality arts education programming to our young artists. Our Studio Artists volunteer one hour per week and choose the types of projects and media they are interested in teaching, acting as “artists-in-residence” for a semester at the partner site, resulting in a valuable experience in for both our young artists and our adult mentors.

New Growth consists of a diverse group of students, most of which attend San Francisco Unified School District Schools and made possible by Teaching Artist Fellows Angela Hien Buencamino Phung, De’Ana Brownfield, Rebeca Abidail Flores, Megan Leppla, and Illena Tejada.

In-person appointments are open and are determined at a later date in conjunction with San Francisco mandates.
