Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the Grateful Dead’s creation, the book No Simple Highway: A Cultural History of the Grateful Dead vividly recounts the band’s vibrant history.

Drawing from a fresh supply of new research, author Peter Richardson adds new insight into the Dead’s earliest influences, their daunting challenges, and their massive success.

The Booksmith hosts a a Haight Street launch party for this new book with beer and wine served.
