There are local artists working hard with the Pacific Center for the Book Arts to preserve the age old craft of hand-printing books and ephemera.

Hand-Printing in Digital Times: This event is a free panel discussion from professional book artists on tradition and innovation.

— 2 to 3:30 pm in the Latino-Hispanic Meeting Room of the Main Library.

Also in the Library: Bookworks 2011 exhibit

Located in the Skylight Gallery on the Sixth Floor, this free exhibit celebrates the extraordinary books designed, printed, and assembled by professional book artists and educators across the country. It’s also hosted by the Pacific Center for the Book Arts (PCBA) and relates directly to this talk.
