On September 3 and again on October 1, 2016, from 10 am to 2 pm, the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park is trying something new—a “Family Fun Day” to encourage kids and families to get moving and get active outdoors in the park.

Participants will be led through a maritime-themed day of physical activity, including sail raising, an obstacle course which includes “walk the plank” and “cannonball toss”, relay races, teambuilding games, and much more. Come ready for teamwork AND competition. As a special incentive, all youth participants on September 3rd will be eligible to win a seat for themselves and a chaperone to sail aboard our historic schooner Alma that afternoon from 1-4 pm. Make sure to bring extra layers of clothing in case you win.

On both dates, participants should meet up behind the Maritime Museum Building (900 Beach Street, San Francisco), under the big clock, along the Aquatic Park Promenade. RSVP is requested, although not required, to lucien_sonder@nps.gov.

Disclaimer: Please double check event information with the event organizer as events can be canceled, details can change after they are added to our calendar, and errors do occur.
