Oakland’s Black-led summer tradition is back and bigger than ever! The Hella Juneteenth Festival 2025, presented by Hella Creative, invites the community to come together in celebration of Black freedom, creativity, and legacy—through food, music, art, and collective joy.

Wednesday, June 18

Hella Juneteenth Festival kicks off with two exclusive events on Wednesday, June 18, 2025—and you’re invited to be first in line:

🏃🏾‍♀️Freedom Run – A free 5K community run/walk in partnership with Renegade + Town Strides

🍽️ Futureproof Dinner – A culinary time-travel experience curated by Last Supper Society and Chef Michele McQueen, featuring top Black chefs from across the country.

🌀 Futureproof Art Preview – our newest interactive installation at the intersection of GenAI + Black imagination

Celebrate into the evening with a special WNBA live viewing event as the Golden State Valkyries take on the Indiana Fever — in partnership with OMCA, Hella Juneteenth Festival, and the WNBA’s newest team.

About Hella Juneteenth

What began in 2020 as a grassroots campaign by Oakland’s own Hella Creative has grown into a national movement, helping catalyze the recognition of Juneteenth as a federal holiday.

Now in its second year at OMCA, Hella Juneteenth Festival continues to honor Black history while uplifting the creativity, resilience, and brilliance of Black communities.
