Come out to #HellaFunny for a night of big laughs from some of San Francisco’s best comedians at The Great Star Theater, a historic venue opened up in the early 1900’s in the Chinatown district.

Free, but an RSVP is requried.

There will even be a special hula hoop performance by Miss Texas. After the showcase, join the comedians for a night out at a local bar in North Beach.

Butch Escobar (Punchline, Opened for Tom Green)
Butch Escobar, born and raised in San Jose, California, has been honing his comedy skills over the past decade. He is one of the most prominent comics in the Bay Area producing and performing multiple in shows including his monthly Unfiltered Underground at the San Jose Improv.
Butch has toured all over the country with great performers including Tom Green, Doug Stanhope, Bobby Lee, and Last Comic Standing winner Felipe Esparza. He frequents southern California and is a regular fixture at the Hollywood Improv and the world famous Comedy Store on Sunset Boulevard. With comedy based on his everyday life, his comedy is constantly evolving.

Yayne Abeba (Last Comic Standing)
Yayne Abeba is a native San Franciscan. As a child, you could find her dancing and singing her way around San Francisco with the San Francisco Children’s Opera. In 1995, she began studying with Jean Shelton at the Jean Shelton actor’s lab. She was bitten by the comedy bug in 1999 at Tony Spark’s Luggage Store. “It’s like I have no control over it. Whether it’s an open mic, a showcase, or a soap box, I just want to be a part of it. I love making people laugh. I love to entertain.” Realizing that there was no cure, she accepted her fate. She has been touted as one of San Francisco’s up and coming comedians. Her style as been described as fresh, innovative, cutting edge and just damn funny.

Stroy Moyd (SF SketchFest)
Stroy Moyd is a 27 year old comedian from Oakland, CA. He’s opened for the likes of Dave Chappelle, Tracy Morgan, the Wayans Brothers, Hannibal Burress and more. He is a 3 time winner of the Fresh Faces Comedy Competition at the LaughFactory in Hollywood, CA and can be seen at the SF SketchFest in 2013 and numerous comedy festivals around the country.

Josh Argyle (Cobbs)
Josh Argyle is a San Francisco standup comic and published writer. A 2013 selection for both the Sacramento Comedy Festival & the Ventura Comedy Festival as well as the 2014 10,000 Laughs comedy festival in Minneapolis. Josh is a co-producer of the S.H.I.T.s and Giggles Comedy Festival in Arcata, CA and a co-producer of the improv/stand up show “It’s just 2 minutes” in San Francisco. He is the San Francisco Bureau Chief and a contributing writer of the comedy magazine Savage Henry Independent Times which currently has a readership of over 40,000 and can be found from Seattle down to Los Angeles.
