Event Details

Explore how Victorian homes keep us grounded in a high-tech world. See originally-produced videos of City history. Watch the exciting move of the Englander House through the streets of San Francisco. View interiors of historic homes and meet passionate owners.

Meet and talk with a historic homeowner, a professional interior restorer, a real estate developer, and a former president of the San Francisco Historic Preservation Commission.

Explore how seeing history contributes to “place making” in our neighborhoods.

How does a community define its physical place and, therefore, a feeling of belonging in a neighborhood?

– Why do historic houses still feel relevant to us in San Francisco?
– How does this “sense of place” in our lives contribute to meaningful work and job creation?

Presented by the San Francisco History Center, in conjunction with the Victorian Alliance of San Francisco and San Francisco Heritage.
