Event Details

On the morning of November 20, 1969, 79 American Indians, including students, married couples and six children, landed on Alcatraz island (despite an attempted Coast Guard blockade) and began their occupation which lasted for 19 months. Tonight revisit this historic occupation with a lecture, video clips and an attempt to connect this important historic event with the decades of organizing and political resistance since that time.
