Set like a neighborhood block party, this annual event (now in its ninth year) features a temporary outdoor stage for Hawaiian-cover band performances, a Poke Recipe contest, “door” prize giveaways, hula performances and the ever-popular Spam Musubi eating contest.
If you think watching professional hotdog eating contests on ESPN is entertaining, you haven’t lived until you’ve hooted and hollared for “your” local Spam Musubi contestant… live.
Hukilau, a hawaiian-themed restaurant on Masonic and Geary serves up a select menu, full bar inside, beer garden outside, a sushi cutting and lei making demonstrations in a casual, fun and family environment full of Aloha.
