Improv for Connection: An Interactive Workshop About How to Play Well with Others

Get ready to laugh, connect, and go with the flow at Improv for Connection, an interactive improv workshop for anyone wanting to find the play in everyday interactions.

Through a series of simple, joyful improv games, participants will focus on the fundamentals of conversation through a game-based approach. No improv experience is necessary but an openness to try new things and take small, low-stakes risks is encouraged. Whether you’re looking to sharpen your communication skills, boost your creativity, or just shake off the week, this is your chance to reconnect with others (and yourself) through play.

Led by Sammy Wegent (award-winning entrepreneur, game designer, performer and creator of Speechless, the globally licensed improv PowerPoint show as well as co-founder of Freestyle+, a b2b improv training company and Mindless Play, an improv AI game studio), this session brings together Sammy’s decades of experience applying the tenets of improv to every stage of life including work, dating, family, and care giving. He has

✨ What You’ll Get Out of It

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Sammy Wegent is a speaker, entrepreneur, game designer, and facilitator whose 25+ year career has bridged entertainment, education, and technology. His work centers on how play fuels creativity, connection, and wellness in the workplace and at home.

He has co-founded multiple companies built on the belief that “we are always improvising”, including Speechless, a globally licensed presentation show and training system; Freestyle+, a connection and collaboration training company; and Mindless Play, a digital game studio developing improv-inspired, AI-powered brain games. These ventures have partnered with organizations such as Google, Apple, Nike, Disney, The New York Times, Meta, AARP, Allstate, Harvard Business School, and Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Sammy has designed and launched dozens of games at Zynga and Mindless Play, reaching millions of players worldwide and licensing to partners across enterprise, education, and AgeTech. He has presented and performed internationally at events including Google I/O, Dreamforce, CES, Cisco Impact, Outside Lands, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the California Academy of Sciences, and coauthored neuroscience research on creativity with UC San Francisco.

His work has been featured in VarietyNewsweek, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Huffington Post, and the San Francisco Chronicle, and today he continues to lead Mindless Play in its mission to make play a daily practice that sparks creativity, connection, and cognitive wellness.
