Event Details

“Impulse” is a short turn-around exhibition and sale of of more than 150 pieces of affordable artwork by Bay Area and Northern California artists.

In November 2014, Francis Bacon’s painting “Three Studies of Lucian Freud” broke the world record for the most expensive artwork ever sold – $142.4 million. By contrast, “Impulse” offers original artwork by established and emerging Bay Area artists at much more approachable prices of $250 or less.

Each artist brings two works of art, one to exhibit and one to replace it when sold. Artwork is sold on the spot, right off the wall. Arc Gallery’s annual Impulse exhibition and sale has become the go-to event for art lovers and the San Francisco Bay Area community at large to pick up affordable, collectible artwork. It has also helped local artists develop new clientele and establish their reputation in the Bay Area arts.
