Badarikashrama, a Hindu spiritual and cultural center in the SF Bay Area is celebrating its 32nd Anniversary with a cultural program of classical north and south India music along with classical Odissi dance.
Shanthi Shriram hails from a musical family. She started her training under the guidance of her mother, Guru Smt. Lakshmi Sundaram. She had the privilege of being trained on performance techniques by the violin maestro,the late Sri Lalgudi G.Jayaraman. Later Shanthi continued her training from her mother-in-law, the acclaimed violinist, Smt. Lalgudi Srimathi Brahmanandam.
Anupama Chandratreya hails from a very rich Hindustani music tradition. She was groomed by her mother, Dr. Jyoti Dhamdhere at a very young age. She has a Master’s Degree in Classical music. She then received training under the guidance of Ustad Mohammad Hussain Khan and further learned from T.D. Janorikar, both of Bhendi Bazar Gharana. Anupama has released her maiden Ghazal CD “Saugat” to her credit.
