Event Details

With a nod to the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day, the California Historical Society & its Ephemera Project collections offer a glimpse into the Irish experience in California.

Indulge in Irish themed treats, beer and wine while perusing the fantastic collection of Irish items from the California Historical Society’s permanent collection.

Ephemera collections (1850-now) contains:

  • Advertisements, announcements, brochures, catalogs, menus, pamphlets, billheads, theater programs, clippings, bylaws, flyers, tickets, travel guides.
  • Representations of California businesses, associations, schools, institutions, and clubs
  • Events ranging from world’s fairs and earthquakes to parades and protests
  • Stories about buildings and structures, including the construction of Bay Area bridges
  • Extensive biographical files on both well-known and little-known Californians.

The display of Irish items will be on view March 16 – 26 during regular museum hours.
