SF’s Yerba Buena Gardens Festival 2025

The 2025 Yerba Buena Gardens Festival hosts a full lineup of free outdoor music, theater, circus, dance, poetry, and children’s programs. The Festival opens on Saturday, May 10, 2025 with La Santa Cecilia to kick off its 25th Anniversary Season.

Young, energized and politically conscious, The Jamming Nachos are a hard-charging rock ‘n’ roll band straight outta Oakland. Launched as a family combo in 2011 by the siblings Rioz (vocals/guitar), Messiah (guitar/keyboards) and Rey Aceves (bass), the group took shape when they added powerhouse lead vocalist Elena Ruiz and drummer Jeremiah Cobbs.

The band put the world on notice with their triumph at Oakland’s 2014 Mayhem Contest, winning top honors for best song by an under-18 band. With woke anthems like “It Could Have Been Me,” a trenchant response to the death of unarmed black people at the hands of the police, The Jamming Nachos give voice to the thoughts and feelings of a rising generation.
