Ahmed Janka Nabay is a Sierra-Leonean musician who has been a major figure in Bubu Music, a traditionally Muslim music which is played by up to 20 musicians blowing into bamboo pipes of different sizes.
He’s added modern beats and DJs and has taken this 500-year-old horn-fueled traditional sound of Sierra Leone and inspired, young people from Sierra Leone to Liberia to jam bubu bangers in the club every weekend.
