Event Details

Try a little bit of New York’s lower east side in the Mission District tonight with an evening celebrating the gastronomic delights of Jewish soul food, classic New York dishes and beer, along with performances by the “Live City Revue” with live music,  beatboxers, comedians and theater.

A menu of affordable innovate takes on traditional Jewish and New York food will be paired with Shmaltz’s critically acclaimed beers. Dinner will be served from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

Entertainment for the evening continues the Monday “Live City Revue” series presented by Felonious. “Live City Revue” is a multi-disciplinary, collaborative space that merges Felonious’ unique style with a rotating line-up of local and national musicians, beatboxers, theater-makers, comedians, filmmakers, writers and performers bringing the vaudeville show into a new era.

Featured entertainment includes Stateless: A Hip Hop Vaudeville featuring Dan Wolf, Tommy Shepherd and Keith Pinto of Felonious with music by One Ring Zero.
Wild and wildly successful, Stateless showcases the power of performers in collaboration. The story’s emotional undercurrent and controversial theme lead you through a multi-media labyrinth of hip-hop, vaudeville, magic, comedy, history and folk songs that bend time, connecting these contemporary performers to a famous, 1920s German-Jewish vaudeville troupe, The Gebrueder Wolf. (7:30p)

Felonious‘ live instrumentation allows for an intricate musical texture featuring the pounding live drum beats of Soulati (Tommy Shepherd), the reggae, latin, funk, and jazz bass lines of Illin Ills (Dylan Mills), KP’s (Keith Pinto) melodic vocals and keys, MC’s d.wolf (Dan Wolf) and Infinite’s (Carlos Aguirre) poetic and rapid-fire lyrics, and Jon Monahan’s virtuoso guitar playing. KP steps out from behind his keys to rock the mic, while Soulati is able to play the drums and rap at the same time. Spontaneous freestyles and two of the freshest beat boxers on the West Coast (Soulati and Infinite) make a Felonious live show untouchable. (9:30p)

Shmaltz Brewing will be featuring Genesis Ale, a pale/amber ale hybrid; Messiah Bold, a robust nut brown ale; and Origin Pomegranate, an 8% alcohol pomegranate strong ale.

Jewish Soul Food 2
Presented by Shmaltz Brewing Company, CODA, Felonious, and Club Ave. 9
