Mosaic Silicon Valley returns to SJMA with Journeys of Love, Loss & Life: San José. Created and performed by Emmy-award winning musician and composer Van-Anh Vo, Journeys of Love, Loss & Life: San José is an instrumental and vocal portrayal of stories inspired by the lives of members of the local Vietnamese, Chicano, and African American communities. Doors open at 5pm.

Weaving together a sensory-rich tapestry of music and spoken word, Van-Anh Vo draws on her extensive community research, including interviews with local elders as well as historians. Using first-person narratives as both the foundation and inspiration for her work, Vo has created a performance that explores shared experiences and the common threads that bind us together as a nation.

Composed and directed by Vo, Journeys of Love, Loss & Life: San José also features world-class musicians Jimi Nakagawa, Joshua Mellinger, Mikhael Khalikulov, and sound designer Robin Whitehouse.
