Event Details

Kabul Dreams, the first rock band from Afghanistan, established itself in Kabul in 2008. The band has paved the way for a modest but growing rock scene in the country, which is rebuilding itself after decades of war. The band’s motivation to perform came from their own love for music, but also from a public hunger for a new life after war – a life that included new music and art.

The Oakland Mosaic program series highlights the experiences and talents of Oakland’s immigrant communities. This project was made possible with support from California Humanities, a non-profit partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
