Event Details

You may have experienced New Orleans Style Mardi Gras – now try out a German-style Fat Tuesday party – Karneval at Schroeder’s Restaurant in San Francisco.

Free, but an RSVP is required.

Germany has been celebrating this holiday since the Medieval times, but here is what makes the German version different:

  • Group Costumes -creativity is encouraged and clowns are a bonus (who knew?) You live in SF – get the office together and come up with a theme.
  • Get a free round of beer for the best costume(s).
  • Donuts – Krapfen. Mutzenmandeln. Kuerbiskrapfen. The chef will be cooking these up and they’ll be available for purchase.
  • Politically Incorrect Floats – the organizers encourage you to Google these. Some of them are really out there.
  • Candy throwing – yup, not beads… candy. But don’t worry, for the traditionalist they will have beads.

So get on your costume, get ready to eat some donuts and if you want to arrive in a Politically Incorrect Float – they will comp your first Das Boot of beer, but you must pay for the parking.

Party Begins at 4 pm and goes till they need to cut you all off.
