With a name one might give to the baby of a muppet and a stuffed puppy toy, Kermit Ruffins, a talented bandleader, writer, singer, and musician, may seem sweet and cuddly (he probably is), but what you’ll notice first is his superb New Orleans Jazz sound. Credited with the shaping and founding of the ReBirth Brass Band, and often seen performing on the HBO series Treme, Ruffins takes influences from the greats like Louis Armstrong and adds his own experimentation and flair.
Featuring New Orleans style band MJ’s Brass Boppers, this brassy, jazzy night will have you wishing you were on Bourbon street instead of settling for the house whiskey.
