Event Details

Celebrate the third day of Kwanzaa (Ujima, Collective Work and Responsibility) with the Library and The Village Project as part of the 19th annual Kwanzaa San Francisco festivities. To start things off, Brother Clint and Brother Malik perform the Kwanzaa ritual, pour libations, honor our ancestors and light the 1st candle of the kinara. Then we’ll have entertainment and a ritual feast afterward.

Kwanzaa happens every year from December 26 through Janurary 1. The principle for the 3rd day, Ujima, means to build and maintain our community together, making our brothers’ and sisters’ problems our problems and solving them together.

Presented by San Francisco Public Library
