Think of this like those outdoor movies in the park but in daytime and with a classic play. Bring your friends, dates, a blanket and a picnic (don’t forget a bottle of wine) to enjoy free professional theater all Labor Day weekend 2010 in the Presidio’s Main Post Parade Ground Lawn (between Graman St. and Keyes Ave.).
Returning for his eighth season, Director Kenneth Kelleher presents Shakespeare’s Two Gentlemen of Verona, among the lighter of the Bard’s fares. The story goes like this: Valentine and Proteus are best friends from Verona. Problem is, Proteus falls in love with Valentine’s hot new girlfriend and dumps his own faithful girl Julia. Julia makes a plan to get her man back, a plan that includes cross-dressing and some broken laws.
