San Francisco 2021 LaborFest (July 1-31)

LaborFest is an annual festival celebrating the history and culture of working people through film, art, lectures, tours, and exhibits all over the Bay Area from July 1-31, 2021

LaborFest opens its 28th annual festival with a month of timely events inspired by local and international labor activists and labor history. The program schedule includes both international and local films and videos, a labor history walk and bike tour, lectures, forums, readings, theatrical and musical performances. Most events are free of charge but donations by the public will be accepted.

LaborFest is the premier labor cultural arts and film festival in the United States.  LaborFest recognizes the role of working people in the building of America and making it work even in this time of COVID-19.  The festival is self-funded with contributions from unions and other organizations that support and celebrate the contributions of working people.

3-hour boat tour of the Bay from Pier 41
$60

Join the best labor maritime boat trip in the world as we go to historical sites on the bay and the Oakland container port. We will hear about our working-class history, and how the SF General Strike helped shape the character of San Francisco and the Bay Area.

This year, we are also cerebrating the lives of Al Rojas, Ruach Graffis and Anne Feeney who have contributed to the working-class struggle and to LaborFest. We will be joined with labor historians and musicians to celebrate their lives.

5:45 boarding, 6:00 PM departure
Boat leaves promptly at 6:00 PM
(Boat can’t wait because of the gate schedule, so please arrive there at least 30 minutes before the boarding time to allow yourself time to locate the correct gate. The gate for our boat most likely be gate 3, however, it may change. We will post the gate number as soon as we find out.)

Tour lasts 3 hours and come back to Pier 41 by 9:00 PM

Some food will be available, however because of the pandemic, we need to be careful. So, for those who need to be cautious, or special diet, please bring your own food.

We ask you to bring a mask and wear it inside the boat, except when you are on the outside deck.

A portion of the ticket sale will go to locked out and fired workers.
