The Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts hosts the LaborFest BookFair & Poetry Reading – a full day of activism, poetry, books and lectures. The free event takes place from 9:30am to 6:30pm. Topics include “Eleanor Roosevelt and the American Worker” and “Woody Guthrie, American Radical.” A full schedule of Book Fair events is here.
LaborFest, an annual month-long event in San Francisco and the Bay Area features over 70 lectures, workshops, tours and more events all centered around highlighting the struggles of the labor movement. Most events are free and open to the public | July 2-31, 2011
