Founded in 1999, the ensemble’s mission is to expose the larger listening audience to the richness of Cuban and other Latin American music styles that have so influenced American popular music styles.

Over its 15 year history, the ensemble has performed at Carnaval San Francisco, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, live on KPFA Radio, and with such legendary performers as Orquesta Aragón, Israel Lopez Cachao, and Benny Velarde. They have become so much a part of the Bay Area’s multicultural music and art community.
