Event Details

At 1 PM on Sunday, October 27 at the Community Center which is located in the fire department building at 13889 Skyline Boulevard, Woodside California, Mike McCullough shall conduct a Cutting Workshop for the The Kings Mountain Garden Club which shall be a hands on program in which those taking part shall learn how to create plants from cutting material.

The cutting material shall mainly be maddenii rhododendrons, perfect rhododendrons for our area, and many hybrids and forms of species were created in California, especially in the Bay Area.

In this go to page 77 for the article Maddenia Rhododendrons of California by Chip Lima.

The vast majority of these are in the nursery trade.

It is interesting that garden centers which get their plants from Monrovia have no rhododendrons which were created in California, which is extremely poor customer service.

The Cutting Workshop is the perfect place to obtain rhododendrons perfect for our area, which should very likely bloom four or five years after work is done on the cutting.

Mike McCullough is an original member of the De Anza Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society and may be the only original member still in the Chapter.

Mike McCullough has served in every office of the De Anza Chapter except for Treasurer, Membership, and Refreshments.
