Left Coast Annual Juried Exhibition (Pacifica)

Sanchez Art Center, Pacifica—Opening Friday, April 11, with a reception from 7 – 9 pm is the 2025 Left Coast Annual Juried Exhibition.  Juror Carin Adams, Senior Curator of Art, Oakland Museum of California, selected over 50 pieces from a notable collection of more than 800 entries by artists creating in states skirting the Pacific Ocean (Alaska, California, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington).  Adams noted:  “Reflecting the diversity of the Left Coast was the guiding principle for jurying this exhibition.  The result is the confluence of distinct stories and individual practices with artworks representing varying degrees of abstraction and representation in a multitude of media”.  She will talk about the process and selections, and artists in the show will share about their artwork in a virtual Gallery Walk, via Zoom, at 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 27.  (A link to attend will be sent out via email and posted to the Sanchez Art Center Facebook page.)  Showing concurrently is the LCA Awards Exhibition, featuring work by Kimiko Kogure, Kayley Jane Dykman and Sally K Smith, selected by 2024 juror Janna Keegan, Associate Curator, contemporary art and programming, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.  Live music by local musicians Blue on Green with Rob Wullenjohn will provide added enjoyment for those attending the opening night reception, at no charge to the public.  After opening night, gallery hours are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 1–5 pm, through Sunday, May 11.  Upcoming: Sanchez Art Center welcomes spring with a fundraiser titled Art x Nature x Art. This annual event, held in partnership with Shelldance Gardens in Pacifica, will have advance tickets on Eventbrite, for Fri, May 9 –Sat, May 10, AND will be open for drop in visitors on Sun, May 11, for $10.00 at the door supporting the Center’s exhibition program.  Sanchez Art Center is located at 1220 Linda Mar Blvd, Pacifica, CA.
